Does anyone know approximately how much removing one full coil drops the car? I don't wanna cut too much, but sure would be a hassle if I have to pull them back out again to cut more off...

Few yrs ago I only removed 1/2 coil. Now it's settled I think I should have left it alone. It was 1/2 -3/4 in then. now I think it's a 1-1.5in drop.

I need at least a 1-inch drop. Maybe 1-1/4".
I should have mentioned these are '84 Z-28 springs...

Re: You guys with experience in cutting stock coil springs...

I cut a 1/2 coil off the factory front springs on my 91 Z28 and put them on a 92 RS. I removed the isolaters on the rear springs and slid some heater hose over the end of the springs to prevent squeaks.

Every car will be a little different when cutting springs depending on the amount they are already sagging and which version of factory spring you are starting with. 1/2 coil is a good place to start and I wouldn’t go much more than that, the spring rate increases and the ride gets rougher as you shorten the spring.

Thanks, I’m happy with it. I would use different springs for performance use but for a street cruiser it’s perfect.
