power steering ? 3rd gen z28

Was wondering about it looks like a pressure switch with two wires on it that is connected to the power steering lines and what does it do? And what if it is bad? Been wondering for a long time I never seen this on any other vehicle

Giving credit to John. All I did was looked it up.
