Anyone running the Cooper ZEON RS3-G1 275/40/17 tires on your third gen ??
If so, please post up a picture - I'd like to see how they look on the car - my preference is the
Continential Extreme Contact (I had these in the past) but the Coopers are less $$$ just not sure how the sidewall looks when mounted
245 50R16 (oem style 16X8). I like them so far. They are Ultra High Performance All Season (UHPAS), so not a pure Ultra High Performance Summer Tire. I use UHPAS because they are less aggressive and won't steer the car when encountering ruts in the road. My BF Goodrich G-Force Comp 2 were too aggressive that way. I have Continental Extreme Contact on my daily with 280HP front wheel drive (245 40R19). Love them. Again they are UHPAS and are perfect for daily driving and cold weather. Not a performance summer tire.
UPDATE: I forgot to mention I run 275 45R16 drag radials in the back. I don't think the Zeon could handle the 383's torque.

Had them on my 4th gen when it was a daily driver. They were good enough. High tread wear rating so the grip was only ok but plenty for most situations. They ended up cracking and losing small chunks of tread before I fully wore them out after about 5 years of use. Probably enough grip for a stock-ish third gen though. Worked very well in wet and cold weather situations. Never had any issues with hydroplaning, even in surprise deep puddles.

It's a 500 tread wear tire so expect it to be a bit pedestrian. There are other choices if you want something with more grip on dry roads in fair weather conditions. There are even choices with so much grip that it will overwhelm a stock suspension.

What you really looking to do with the car?
When is everyone here going to understand these cars are SLOOOOOOW as he** by todays standards ??
My car is a 100% stock 5.0 (190 HP) automatic with 2.73 gears - a newer Toyota Camery can eat this car - so I dont care about "performance" tires or "GRIP"
If I want that I will take a drive in a Hellcat or Demon..........
I just want a tire that "LOOKS" good for car shows and - what I have on the car now looks TERRIBLE - it looks like an off-road tire
so to answer your question - LOOKS is all that matters to me - both sidewall and tread - and IMO, it's almost impossibel to beat the "looks" of the Continential Extreme contact sport
I am considering these as a snow tire for my SS sedan that is my daily.
Interesting! I would not use The Zeon RS3 G1 for pure winter driving as it is an UHPAS. They are ok on light snow occasionally but not a daily snow tire. They will get hard with freezing temperature and loose traction and braking capacity. The UHPAS were created for performance in weather where temperature varies. They keep their traction in colder weather but sacrifice some in hot weather. It's popular in my neck of the woods where temperature varies from 32-95 over 5-6 months. Just saying.

Yeah, we don't get much snow, more for the cold and wet. Here in southwest ohio we avoid the deep cold.

LOL, I'm with you on that one. I've got Cooper Cobra Radial GT (Performance All Season) on my bone stock Camaro IROC-Z, 89, Lb9 5 speed to replace the original Good Year Eagle GT. I wanted to be as OEM as possible.... and the car is slow hahah!
Could not get the OEM size in the Goodyear Eagle GT II

Wow, that tire has a somewhat "Gatorback" look to it......good choice

we got a freak ice storm one winter while at work one day when I drove my Camaro SS to work. 6 spd car, no traction control. I had a harder time keeping my windshield defrosted than I did keeping traction driving my car the 10 miles home down a county highway. The tires do pretty well in any condition. They fell like a performance tire in most situations but they’re fairly easy to overwhelm in acceleration. The BFGoodrich Comp 2 All Season is probably the better tire if an all season is necessary.

Yep, that's the info I was looking for.
Although I was talking about lateral grip in corners, not drag racing. I think you'd be surprised how much a good set of shocks and tires will transform your car. If you're interested in a high performance tire, then check out the Falken RT660 and Toyo R888R. Those are the top tier street tire for summer dry surface in a 275/40-17. That's about as aggressive a rubber as you can get while still having some reasonable life on the street.
