Any suggestions for new front coil springs for an early 3rd gen? It’s a 84 Z28. Not looking for a crazy track suspension just something original grade or slightly better. Been looking at Moog 5662 but it doesn’t look like those will work on 82-84s. Car has 70k miles but it has also sat in the same position for 22 years in a garage. They look alright but if everything else going in is new why stop here?
Original spring in the picture. Thanks!
They work fine in 82-84. That's what I have in my 83.
They just don't list em that way because there was never a factory application that would have called for em. Doesn't mean they won't work.
they ride good? From what you can tell anyway…did they raise or lower the front at all? Seemed to me the 82-84s had the front lifted slightly higher…I’m guessing leftover 80s trash trying to increase drag
Ride seems fine on my car. Better than the OE. Mine is a L69 car so it started out lower to begin with, they didn't seem to change the height all that much. I put em in, I wanna say, in maybe 91 or 92 or so, though; who knows what might have changed about em since then. Like any car you put front springs in though, it did sit up higher in the front for acoupla months, but then settled down after acoupla thousand miles.
If your car came with the LG4 they might even lower it. My little bro's 84 LG4 car sat noticeably higher in the front than my 83 L69, the "composite" hood notwithstanding.
Can't say anything about the 82-84 being "higher". Not sure what there would have been back then for them to be "higher" than. ("higher" being a comparative word... it implies that there's something to compare it TO) Not sure about "increase drag" either. After all, this was WAY back before things like "don't say gay" and all that, where nowadays "drag" is unacceptable or whatever in certain places.

yeah it’s an LG4 but not for much longer….but that’s another topic. Once I get the R side one out I’ll decide if they get replaced. Thanks for the info!
