Best Prices For Bilstein Shocks!

Just wanted to let everybody know. I called shox.com, and priced Bilstein, all the way around for my 87 iroc, and he quoted me @ $459. I then called around, called autozone, they said they can special order them for me, they priced the front @ $179.99, and the rears @ $89.99, for a total of $269.98 + shipping. That's a whopping diff of $189.02 I can be spending on my beloved Z28! I will go down there today and order these shocks, and when I get them, will let you-all know if this was true, or not. It's possible that they guy looking in the catalog made a mistake, but will find out a little later today.........

I got my front Struts from www.Vettebrakes.com for $139 each. I got the rear shocks from www.carparts.com and used a $50 coupon. The whole setup ended up being approx $380, including shipping.

shox.com

I am NOT happy with AUTOZONE!!!! As usual, the guy on the phone priced me out those bilstein shocks, but he DIDN'T tell me that the price was INDIVIDUALLY!! (Friggin Idiot) Then, I get all the way over there, and find out they wanted 179.99 EACH for the fronts, and 89.99 EACH for the rears!! (On the phone, he just said 179 for the front, and 89.99 for the rear) Imagine how happy I was, it didn't last but a couple of hours........

I tell ya, there oughta be SOME kind of lawyer I can see about opening up a lawsuit for my wasted time, let alone mention all the pain & suffering.....I wonder how many wrong parts he handed out today??

Needless to say, I called Shox.com and placed my order with them. They ARE the lowest price around for Bilstein shocks.....

Justins86bird, I know that the coupons are everywhere. I just cannot seem to find them. Could you tell us where you found your coupon, or better yet, what the code is.

Thanks,
Jesse

I'm kinda shocked you believed that price was for both. Do you buy parts often? I dunno, maybe it's because I work at a parts house. When someone gives me a price for "the front" I always immediately think "each". Next time you may want to ask the guy on the phone while you're talking to him.

Soulbounder, I dunno, I used to work in a parts house myself. But that was many moons ago (about 8yrs now) But, the place that I worked at, we took PRIDE in letting the customer know UPFRONT by COMMUNICATING with them. When I think of things like shocks, and you say for the "front", those things come in pairs don't they? But to answer your question, yes it has been awhile since I've been on the scene, buying parts. But, If it would have been me on the other end of the phone, I sure would have let them know on the phone by specifying "each". Because you never know how FAR away somebody has to drive to get there. That seems like nobody behind the counter thinks of nowdays. Time is worth money to some people, you know.........

We used to be able to tell people on or about the approximate date that the parts would be arriving on the truck, if we didn't have it in stock. Nowadays, all you get is " I dunno when it will be in, maybe next week". I know, a lot of blame should go to the business owner who is too busy stuffing his pockets with most of the profits, to be able to pay the help what they're really worth.....

We shall see if this cap & rotor are the right parts when I get my car back out of the shop (They are tightening the steering wheel)
And then I will make up my mind for good about autozone.

Taz, I sure wished I would have found this info earlier. Like yesterday. I guess I should call shox.com back and cancel my order, or just lose $50? Hmmm, now where DID I put that phone.....
