Any Front Control Arms / A-Arms that don't cost a fortune?

I'm not road racing this car, just a fun cruiser and DD over the summer.

It looks like the OEM front control arms aren't made by anybody anymore. Cheapest tubular set is about 600 bucks.

I have read on the forums that the S-10 Front Lower Control Arms of the same era are the same except for the wheel stops are a different size. Anyone utilize these?

I know this kit from Speedway exists, but nothing of the quality. I ordered them about a year and a half ago, but cancelled when they didn't ship in the window I was told they would.

Funny enough, those lowers are also used in a kit from Speedway for the S10. So I would say you're on the right track there.

I have in the garage a set of the Speedway's.

Trying to find time to install. Hoping in July I'll get round to it.

Seems that the stockers go a long way with regards to "spirited" driving.
Mine certainly have been doing the job for a long time.

Not sure about the "fortune" part.

Pretty sure that S truck (and A & G body) arms are the same as ours, except that various ones have different steering stops. Which is eeeeeeeeezzzzzzzzy enough... just buy some arms, wizz-wheel the stops off, drill a hole, and put a bolt in it w 2 nuts. Et voilà, instant F-body arms w ADJUSTABLE stops.

Whoa, $371 a pair for the Speedway lower arms. Did I read the web site right. That is a good price.

This is the method I am going with. I'll make a post about it after installation.

It's a good price, but it's definitely made of Grade A Chineseium, and the tubing is thinner than the BMR/UMI equivalents. Probably not a bad choice as a daily though.

this was my next choice, but the Delrin bushings are having me shy away from them. I drive my 3rd gen quite a bit, to work grocery store, whatever. I enjoy cruising around in it and I don’t want an overly harsh ride.

I've got Delrin bushings in my stock control arms. Nothing harsh about the ride. No weirdness transferred through the steering.
