My IROC's Eibach springs were installed upside down
Bought my low mileage, (27,200) 1987 IROC in Feb 2025. Once purchased, I drove it through my neighborhood a few times and then the car "went under the knife."
I'm in the middle of a LS7/570, Tremec T56 Magnum F swap along with a UMI Road Race K member. As I was in the process of removing the OEM K yesterday, I noticed that the Eibach springs were installed upside down. Not only that but the end of the springs were not placed correctly concerning the two holes in the control arm. Shoddy work like this is why I turn my own wrenches.
Anyway, I'm just curious what the ramifications of this incorrect spring installation could've been. It's not important but I'm just curious.
You can see that the spring is upside down. I found Eibach installation instructions online and it says that the labeling should be right side up and the flat end of the spring should be up top.
The installer had taped the isolation pad to the round end of the spring and incorrectly installed that end at the top.
