FYI: BAER Track system w/ drop spindles

While i patiently wait ANDYZ28 to finish his project i decided to work on mine.

The BAER setup is VERY similar to what some of you have done to make the 1LE swap possible. Its nothing a little grinding won't fix The awsome part about these brakes it that the hub is seperate from the rotor AND its a direct replacement onto the stock/drop spindle. All i need to do now is redrill and tap the holes in the spindle for the adaptor braket and i am in business.

Hub question: The upper bearing is a tapered roller bearing, while the lower is a straight roller. When off the spindle the lower bearing has a good 1/8 movement horizontally. Is this ok? I assume that it is fine when installed, but it seems like the outer bearing takes all the load. Whats the deal here? I have never taken these apart before.

So, i will now have a set of modified spindles up for grabs (i think) I am pretty sure that you will be able to use them for the 1LE swap. The only difference with them (aside from the obvious) is that the bracket holes are double the dia of the original. Can anyone confirm that they can be used for this swap? I will not need them and i know this will help someone with their project. Especially since all they would have to do is bolt up the parts when Steve gets the parts in.

I will post pics when i get the chance.
