how much do rear ends weigh?

That depends on what parts it has on it. I would say that the drum and disc setups weigh pretty much the same. The big factor is if it is just the housing or the complete rear. I do not claim to be strong or weak, but i have serious trouble lifting a complete rear. Take the drums (or rotors) off and the axles out and i can move it around fine. I assume that you want to ship one? If so, freight is the only way to do it. If you just want to know so you can lug it around.. take as many parts off as you feel necessary.
