Wellll, thanx guyz.Ive worked hard to get this air suspension right, and ive still got more to go.Im still planning on adding side to side soon and upgrading the valves again to electrics. The valves im usung now are kinda neat, they are a 2 function valve so they can fill and purge(drop) all in itself. They are actually supposed to be used as a brake relay for the big rigs! Now,as for my drive line compressor(the crown jewel!)I got the idea from trukin magazines, air lift company makes and sells one for $900!So i put one together for about $120 canadian.I got a a/c compressor from a blazer, made up some brackets out of 1/4" steel.Got adaptors for the intake and output lines,a small air filter, inline oiler and a water trap. Then i simply wired it to the tank, hooked up a switch and got a longer v belt to stretch over the pulley.Ill post a pic if ive got some time,i gotta go to work.

Ok,heres the pic of the compressor, its not the closest up pic but its decent.Ignore the V6 under the hood.Soon an 8 will be dropped in there along with WAY TO MANY other mods this winter!Enjoy..
You should swap a 91-92 ground effects/nose on that car......it would make it look closer to the ground.......
Also what are the negative things about having air bags and any tips or tricks??? I'll be adding airbags to my ride in about 3-4 weeks and i'm trying to get all the information about them as i can before the install......
Thanks

Actually, its funny that you say that, ive got a 92 nose and gfx in my shop just waiting to be painted and then theyre goin on!Also ive got the 92 style iroc spoiler on order and soon ill have a cowl induction hood!Heres a tip for ya,the front bags must be mounted upside down,so the port is pointing down. This is because there is nowhere for a line to go when its up,i screwed around for 2 hours before i realized this!

Thanks bbunting (btw did I ever post the after pics?).
LowC, I've had my nose to the grindstone but in my spare time I've been blueprinting a 391ci stroker. Lots of trial fitting and clearance checking.
Again, nice job. I can't wait to see it with the gfx.

Sorry, but I can not answer that. I found the picture online. I would assume the inner fender liners are gone by now..

The shaved handles, headlights, lowering, cross-drilled rotors and the custom fenders ate all the money i had set-aside for this......(actually they weren't in the budget).....

Next up is an engine swap, 4th gen rear, and some new rims....Then the air bags, I'm still doing them......but they have been pushed back.....
You may want to look at some of the new posts that LowCamaro has made, he has alot of new pics of his set-up, and shots of it in different positions....As well as Andy Franshaw(spelling may be off), a member from overseas.....He has bought a kit, but i don't know if he has it installed already.....I haven't seen the pics around...

Yep, that's me!
After finally getting my 91 350 RS to the paint shop (where it is now)-I am currently fitting the air suspension to my '86 sport coupe.
The bags were fitted temporarily to see if they would fit (they did!) and then removed again so all the bracketry can go to be chrome plated. Which they did on friday.
Here is a couple of photos of the front bags and brackets first and the rear bags and brackets next.
As FLYNLOW92rs has found out, other financial plans/projects always seem to get in the way! BUt, I am getting there now. Loads of photos will be taken when things start to go in. Chrome platers have told me about 5 weeks to get all them completed. By then all the suspension will be finished (3/4 of the way there now), so it will just be bolted in. This car is a show car in every sense of the word. A lot of the components around the airbags are chrome plated, so it should look really good.

Good luck with your research and possible future fitting! I will keep you all informed.
Andy.

Hey Andy the bags look good. Where did you get them? How much? and what make are they? Did the front bags come with those brackets or did you have to make somthing up? sorry for all the questions Im just really interested in putting them in my car. Oh oh are those fast bags or regular type, im not really sure what the difference is in bag style or if its just the line size. Thanx for any help you can offer.

Check out
http://www.airliftcompany.com/easyst...indexframe.htm
The brackets are all included. If you buy the above kit, you will need a compressor and various other bits. I was lucky, I bought these secondhand and shipped them over to the UK. Send them an e-mail with your questions, I am sure they will help you.
I am going to try this kit and see what happens.
I will keep you posted on progress.

I was reading the points this company gives on there air ride for camaros and firebirds and it says "handles like a race car-flat cornering"
http://www.airliftcompany.com/easyst...reetCamaro.htm
Now ive never driven in an air ride car but if anyone who has would like to give there thoughts on this. I was always told it would handle like a cadillac....

I thought Easy Street made kits for our cars. I wonder who will be the first person to body drop a 3rd gen?? LOL!! I love bags, but it didnt match up with the performance I want out of my car so I'm sticking with adjustable spring pertches. I'll get some pics soon ...
