The only necessary change will be the front springs. Anything else you do will just enhance the cars performance. There are a whole lot of "might as well" parts though. What have you done to the car so far? What are you looking to do with it? For starters since you have to get springs up front, buy NEW front and rear springs. Also pick up some new shocks. Sway bars are an option that you will not regret (if you are looking for handling)

Well what brand of springs are good?
I was going to replace the back and front just so i wouldn't have any problems down the road. I was actually thinking of lowering my car but i scrap it whenever i go from like a drive way to the street if the slope is really steep. (its hard to explain). So do you think if i got the eibach lowering springs do you think they are a lot stiffer? and will not make my car scrap on speed bumps and stuff?
Which brand do you guys find to by the besT?
Whats a good price/brand of sway bars? Are they the same as just going to a car wrecker and picking some up from them?

THanks alot!

I am lowering my Formula with drop spindles soon, so i plan on buying GM springs for the front. The rears will be Eibach, who i have heard are the best. In order to minimize scraping, you will need to drive differently over speedbumps and such. Basically you want to take them on an angle, not straight on like you can usually. If you are concerned with scraping, go with the 1.5" drop.

I have never heard of sway bars "wearing out" generally, they are a part that does not decay unlike springs. Junkyards, classifieds are your best bet. Look out for the 34/36mm fronts and i can't remember the rear... 24mm? Search the boards for the WS6 diameters, they are the best (in my opinion)

<Edit: spell/grammer check>

I am right? Are you referring to my opinion on the WS6 suspension? I assume this is a daily driver. If you prefer a more smooth ride then choose softer springs.

I priced out a set of fronts a few months ago. They came to ~$160. I am sure the rears are roughly the same. It ends up being cheaper to buy the lowering springs.

Check this out for spring rates and part numbers:

Yeah it is my daily driver but i wanna have some power and handling also. Cuz i do plan on street racing and **** like dat, beat the odd mucktangs that come around!
hah
yeah it does look like lowering springs are cheaper. So you think its a way better idea to get lowering and stock springs in da car?
And just look up those ones u circled?
b/c i do not mind getting lowering springs im just worried ill scrap the front of my car more! i do try to drive on angles up speed bumps and stuff but yah still happens sometimes. Plus!
my engines got like almost 300,000km so its probibly a good time to replace the springs?! hah
Are they hard to install on my own? or should i get a shop to do it?
Thanks a bunch

I agree with the worries about more front end scraping. Guess I'll find out soon as I just bought a complete set of Hotchkis sport springs (1" advertised drop). Wanted to close that 2" fender/wheel gap on my '91 RS to about an inch. Will post pics next week with changes (including new wheels). See ya soon!
