Would this be dumb?

Ok like everyone else here I'm looking to improve my car's handling. What I've got in mind is (eventually as the $$ comes) Spohn SFCs (this summer definately), 3 Point STB, WS6/IROC swaybars and possibly springs. In that order. It dosen't handle too bad right now, but since its 100% street use I want to level out cornering as much as possible and maintain the current understeer/oversteer balance. Lowering my car is not an option, i can hardly get in and out of my driveway as it is, so i figured the stiffer springs would be a good as well as low cost option there. I don't care if it rides a bit stiffer, I'm 19.

Now what my question is related to is: Would doing all this stuff while I still have 15" wheels be kinda dumb? Would my current wheel/tire setup probably be the limiting factor after these mods? Before? Current setup: 15" stock wheels, 235/55? something BFG radial T/As on all for corners, or at least will be after the blizzaks come off. Just on the front for now.

I like to have a well rounded car so suspension mods will come along with engine mods as well. So remember my budget is real tight, and I'm just trying either not only to make best use of my funds but not make a mistake and buy something I shouldn't. Not to mention I'm trying to not irritate anyone by not asking a halfway intellingent question

Sounds good. I would do the sway bars first, then springs and then SFCs.

Think so? The reason I was going to do that first was just for the reasons of taking some stress off the unibody, especially since its a T-top car. But I've heard really good things about changing sway bars. I guess it would make more sense to strenghthen the chassis after I stiffen the suspension instead of before. If things go as planned though, I should be able to do both those this summer anyway! Since the springs would be the most complicated thing to add, I'll probably do that last. So that leaves the STB, heck that can be done whenever. Any nice saturday afternoon once I've got teh $$ to get one. I mean really, for parts, I should be able to get all this stuff for under $600, not counting bushings, this and that stuff, and help installing it all. (Used springs $75 sway bars $150 SFCs $150 STB $150 or so)

Thanks for replying!

IMHO, do the SFC's first. Since you have a T-top car, that will show you the most noticable results, first.

Then the sway bars, with good aftermarket bushings and links.

A 2 pt STB is sufficient, but that is preference.

As for the springs, also do the A-arm bushings and the ball joints while you have it opened. They are not that expensive.

And when you can, add some KYB shocks and struts.
