Kumho Tires?

I can only assume tire threads belong in the suspension forum...

I was wondering how Kumho tires perform in comparison to other high performance tires? They apear to be a little friendlier to my wallet and come in the exact sizes I was hoping to mount.

Also, I wanted some opinions on the sizes I was planning to run, 245/50R16's up front and 255/50R16's in back, I have IROC (16x8) rims and I mostly wanted to know if 255's will look good or if they bulge on these rims...

I liked the brand when I had a 4x4.

i have the kumho ecsta supras on my car. i got a deal and picked up all 4 through a freind for $200. they are 245/50/zr16. i like em alot. as far as you putting 255 just in the back...i would keep them all the same, your not gonna be able to rotate them if you have different sizes

Why does everyone do the 245 front and 255 back thing, It does no good. The 255 is less than an inch wider and almost 3/4 of an inch taller.

I'm running 245/45-16 on all corners. I'm thinking about putting 275/40-17 on the rear only and leaving the 16's on the frount.

Ok, here is my logic... 255/50 throws my speedo off less than 245/50's and the rear is what matters as far as that goes, I don't think I could run anything bigger than 245/50 in the front because it will rub on the fender... I may even have to run 245/45's up front...

I don't like the 215's I have now and the 16x8 wheels are just begging for some 245's... also, I didn't plan to rotate the tires anyway, they are marked "front" and "rear" first off, and I believe they have different spacing. Also, I believe that the rear wheels are 16x8.25 and the fronts are 16x8.

Edit: my supporting numbers:

OEM tires were on 15 inch rims and stood 26.02 inches high... I'm running 215/60's all around right now, at a hight of 26.13 inches

now, my 215's have a sidewall height of 129 mm
255/50's sidewall: 127.5 mm
245/45's sidewall: 110.5 mm
245/50's sidewall: 122.5 mm
245/55's sidewall: 134.5 mm

So as you can see, the 255/50's are in fact the closest to what I want.

I've got the Supra 712's in 275/40/17. Great tire when it's warm outside, when it's cold, I get no traction.
I can barely chirp 2nd when it's warm, the tires are that sticky.

Yes 255/50/16 is what you want on the rear they are almost the exact same size as 215/60/15. But i don't think it will really matter whast ever you do, its just personal preference. I like to put the widest tire i can on but thats just me!

Yeah, those are the ones I wanted... they come in lotsa sizes too... I'll have a winter and summer set of tires once I buy them, it rarely drops below 70 degrees in the summer here... shouldn't be a problem.
