Bottoming Out/ Grinding Tires PIECE OF ****

MY SUSPENSION SUCKS A$$. im pretty sure the shocks and struts are the factory ones. the car has 130k in an 84 z. I hear good stuff about KYB Gas-a-just or whatever shocks. would they keep my back tires from making that scraping noise when i take a corner too fast and would getting the KYB struts also keep me from bottoming when i go to fast?

Shocks & struts control bounce & springs support the weight. You need springs!

If the tires are scraping against the side of the wheel well maybe the bushings are shot.

econd on the bushings. Stand at the rear of the car and push it back and forth several times. wtch the rim for mvement. If there is a lot, they are shot.

It's probably time for everything at once. At the least, I'd say springs & shocks. You might "Temporarily" find rear springs out of a late-80's f-body in a junkyard for $10 or $15 if you're tight on cash. Definately buy new shocks, but as for brand, any shock/strut would be better than what you're running now!!
