For a 11 sec car I would stay with a Steel Dr Shaft, check out
Spohn Performance Parts at the top of these broads. The Alum.
Shaft may not be strong enough if you are pulling high HP/TQ.
My opinion.

I paid about $250 for a new aluminum driveshaft to fit the TH350. The 700r4 uses a longer driveshaft, so may be a little more. Check the classifieds for the longer shaft, they seen to go for around $100 used. Coleman racing products makes custom lenths.

1LE al driveshafts usually go for about 125-150 used, There's a guy on here that always used to have a few on hand to sell you, that was about 1 1/2 years ago when I got mine from him.

They're probably no good for a 11 sec car.

Try www.dennysdriveshafts.com

That is all they make/sell and are lifetime garaunteed.

I am going with one of these over an aluminum shaft.

If you want light weight and strength, I'm not sure you can beat a carbon fiber driveshaft. I don't know how long they last, though.

I just picked up one for $242.92 (plus $15 S&H) for a total of: $257.92 I talked to Dal at Van Devere Olds, click on link below for all the info:

http://www.eecis.udel.edu/~davis/z28...up/misc/ls1ds/

As you can see it is the 3" LSI aluminum driveshaft. The part number is different than the one listed on the site but Dal knows that. Dal is great and he knows his parts. I checked at a local dealership here in Austin and they wanted $271.00 for the DS and the total was going to be $294.00 with tax!!! I dont mind waiting a few days to save over $36 The DS is part of my "suspension master plan" I will post pics as I get parts in.

Paid $150 for one also. Had to put some shims in the Spohn torque arm DS loop for clearance. ( um, OK, it was some 3/8 coarse nuts for now and then I had to get some longer bolts).
