search online for some research, i have hooker headers but a flowmaster muffler......just seems to make sense to me
almost all of the aftermarket cat backs flow the same, at least close enough that timakes little/no difference. teh only oen tha tout flows the others by a lot is the borla with the interchangable plates.
so basically if you are shopping fo rjust a cat back or a muffler just find one you think sounds nice and go with it.
if you ever wanna see any performance gain when you upgrade you headers you shoudl really swap the cat for a 3incher and get a 3inch cat back. it will help with the tone a lot, making it much stronger sounding, and be ready for when you wanna make more power.

Hooker, that's what I've got. You can get a hooker with a 3-inch intermediate pipe, I don't know if flowmaster has 3-inch or not but I know dynomax has 2.5 inch.
The hooker exhaust is pretty loud. Probably not quite as loud as flowmaster though. I've gotten a LOT of compliments on how my car sounds since I put the cat-back on :-). I think the hooker has a better tone and sound than flowmaster.
Oh and you actually have a 2.25 inch cat. Not even 2.5 :-). But Hooker cat-back p/n HOK-16820 (that's a Summit part number, but Jegs ought to be able to find it by the "16820") has a full 3-inch intermediate pipe except the very beginning where it necks down small enough to mate to the stock cat. But if you ever go to a larger cat, you can just cut off the beginning of the I-pipe (where it necks down) and have a full 3-inch exhaust.
If you go with this part number (price was $233.95 when I bought it) the passenger side exhaust hanger is wrong. No idea why but everyone who has bought this exhaust has commented on it, Hooker just doesn't make the right bracket (for passenger side, driver side is perfect). It is pretty easy to fabricate the correct hanger, the one that is on the Hooker is just a flange with 2 bolt holes, I cut off the stock bracket from the stock exhaust, drilled two holes in it, and bolted it to the flange.

Im running the Flowmaster Force II system because it was 225$ and I didnt have any money at the time. I gotta say it does sound good. I picked up that and a 3" cat at the same time, gave me .2 sec on the track, but Im sure Ill pick up a lot more when I get my headders / y pipe on (I just orderd MAC headders!
).
My 5.0 friends even say it sounds good
