Think i found my problem.

I finally did what i should have done to begin with. i pull up the trouble codes in my rs. and got a code 32. on my lo3 that is something with the egr system. i check all the hoses and they are all fine. i checked the valve and it is stuck! could this be the cause of the odor coming from my car??

I had a bad fuel smell after driving it coming from my 89 IROC. It is currently in the shop right now. They found a stuck EGR as well, so it could very well be your problem. I'll find out in a few days if it fixed it or not.

All the more reason not to use egr. Hehehe. I went through 3 of those damn valves in 10k miles, and finally I had enough and used a different intake manifold with no egr. Then again, I am not concerned about emissions.

hey mx265,
did you find out if the egr valve was the cause of the odor in your car?

Supposedly, if the EGR is stuck or if your cat is going bad there will be a smell similar to rotten eggs out of the exhaust.
