8746 to replace 8063

I have an 89 TBI computer and want to replace my 88 TBI computer so I can start to burn my own chips but for some reason the computer does not want to work. Could it be the vats crap or are some of the pin outs diffrent? Any help from you guys would be great. Thanks.

Yes, the 89 has VATS enabled, but once disabled, it's a direct plug in. I did the same thing, but after swapping to the 8746, I saw that the 8063 has support now from tunercat. You can use either one if you like. I'm using the 8746, just because I have the definition file for it.

How can I disable the vats without having to burn a new chip for it? Can I jump some certain terminals with a resistor to override it?
