Jet stage 2 chip
Jet stage 2 chip
well i have whats in the sig... 4:11 gears and posi<------(wicked i love them!)... 1 problem the speed limiter is is making my car shut down at about 70 mph.... i can't even get down the 1/4 without it shutting down...so my question is does anyone with the lo3 motor on the board use the jet stage 2 chip.. how do you like it... any difference.. and finally will this get rid of the speed limiter.... i know some people will say burn your own but i really don't have the time to try and learn that stuff right now... i am just looking for an easy fix...any little gains are just a bonus!!!
Because you're TBI is close to stock, it should work ok. Generally you should burn you're on chips, but I guess if that isnt an option, then that should take away the limiter (make sure you get the one without a speed limiter)
I have 4.10's and a jet chip.If your car is stock or has minor mods then the jet chip works good.It doesnt get rid of your speed limiter. There is a tech article on how to get rid of that.Me,I have an after market speedometer that lets calibrate for gears, tires and so on.Later.

When you get the stage 2 chip you will have to request to have the speed limiter removed. I have the stage 2 chip in my car w/160 deg thermo which I bought when the car was in Germany. I sent the chip back to JET because the limiter was still in place.
I got it back and was able to go all out on the Autobahn.

I hope you have your reading glasses on because here are the mods:
Engine: H.O. dual snorkel air cleaner, Turbo City modified TBI w/adjustable regulator, K&N air filter, relocated IAT sensor into the left intake scoop, Edelbrock TBI manifold, World Products 305 Torquer Heads, Crane Gold Race Aluminum 1.6 ratio roller rocker arms and springs, Edelbrock aluminum finned valve covers, Crane 2031 roller cam, Pete Jackson gear drive, Mr. gasket 2 piece timing cover, Jet-Hot coated Edelbrock headers(TES), Edelbrock 3" cat back exhaust w/ a 3" converter from CatCo and Monza Big Bore dual tips, Summit Engine oil cooler, Fluidamper balancer, Mezeire electric water pump, March underdrive crank pulley, AIR pump delete, Jacobs Ultra Team ignition system, Accel control module, dual fans from a TPI TransAm, JET 160 deg thermostat, stage 2 power chip and 180 deg fan switch, Accel 300+ race wires, AC Delco Rapidfire plugs and a Mr. Gasket fuel gauge.
Transmission / Rear End: The transmission is a stock anemic T-5 (gone through 2 of them already) with a Hurst shifter and a CenterForce II clutch and pressure plate (soon going to a RAM PowerGrip heavy duty clutch set).
The rear end has an Auburn limited-slip differential and Richmond 3.42 gears.
***UPDATE***
Swapped in a completely rebuilt disc rearend from an '83 Z28 and transferred Auburn diff and 28 spline axles from old rearend. Gearing is now 3.73. Welded axle tubes and LPW Ultimate 10 bolt cover with axle tube braces also installed.
Suspension: The suspension has been treated to Suspension Techniques lowered springs with KYB shocks and struts and a full Energy Suspension polyurethane kit.
I haven't run the car at the track yet with 3.73's in place. 1/4 mile times were achieved with 3.42 gearing only. I'm assuming I'll be running 2 to 3 tenths quicker with the 3.73's. I've noticed a big improvement in acceleration. I'll be hitting the track soon.
