who makes the best custome chips

i am planning to drop a motor in my truck within the next 6 months. the problem is i have no clue on how to get the ecm to work with it. i know i have to get a new chip but the only one that i can think of is ed write. he told me that he could burn me a chip for $300. but i have not heard any thing good or bad about him. dose any one have a recommendation for me on getting a chip burnt for my motor or if it can even be run of a tbi setup. this is the combo i plan on running

350 with
dart 180cc intake runner iron eagles

i was thinking of using the comp cam xr264hr with a 112 lsa with

212 and 218 I/E duration at .050
and .488 .495 I/E lift

or

comp cams xr258hr cam with 206 and 212 I/E duration at .050
and .480 .488 I/E lift

a Holley tbi intake with 2" bores and a holley tbi unit

and a set of Hooker metallic ceramic coated headers

any help will be appretiated.

You, nobody else. For less than $300 you can have all the stuff to burn your own eproms and get it near perfect. Why would you want to spend more money for something that would run like crap (Ed's chips and stock chips). The only difference is that instead of running say 70% of the motors potential you'd be at 75% with his...not worth the $300 when you could spend the $240, have all the equipment and get 95+%...oh well, do what you want but it's a waste of money to buy an eprom at that price.

where can i get the equipment to do this i have never seen any advertisements. how do you monitor the motor so that you can tell where you need to make adjustments and such. is it hard to set up the chips is there a beginners guide out there. sorry for all the questions but i am from the old school of carbs and mechanical advance distributors.

well my advice....go back to the old school that you came from.im heading back there in a few weeks because of the waste of time it is to worry about tuning one of these TBI's.plus its more fun to turn a wrench on yer car than it is to type a keyboard at a desk isnt it?i know this will get flamed, but it is my opinion.go to the carb board and see for yourself the advantages.

i would but i was told that it would not pass inspection in NH if i did and my MPG would go down i can not see that with the 10 -11 MPG i get now but it would stink if it went down to like 9-10

keeping tbi is the way to go in teh long run. it may take a little mroe effort to tune, but in the long run you will see better mileage, have fewer hastles from teh smog ****'s and see more power.
