what do you think of this combo?

I was looking in the summit mag. and edelbrock has the performer manifld and camkits...

they have one for the chevy TBI, 1987-95 (EGR) manifold part # EDL-3704 for $210.95 and the cam kit for it..EDL3702 for $123.95 and the lift is I .398...E .442...duration is, 194.....214..

what do you guys think of this combo??

the edelbrock intake is pretty good, but their cam selections suck severely. the intake will help you very nicely, but a stock LT1 cam will cost you less and deliver a much larger gain in performance.

Thats what I was thinking....If I get a used lt1 cam, is the edlebrock intake the best way to go? or is there a better deal? I am undecided on weather or not to keep the 140,000 mile tbi and do the heads also, or just do these mods and put them on a 350 later.

teh nice thing about going 305 to 350 is taht anything you bolt onto the 305 will swap right over onto the 350 later. si if you get teh cam and intake now, you can jsut swap them over later and benefit from mroe cubes.
i wouldn't put a lot of effort into the stock heads. if they need a little freshening up that is fine, but i woudl advise spending money having any real work done to them. by the time you get them so they flow a little better you have spent as much as you would on a set of heads that will flow a lot better anyway. this is true of most stock heads.
