car trouble,please help

okay heres the situation, i have a 83 camaro 305 cfi, normally car runs good, however lately sometimes when i start it the engine will just stumble and die . but if you hold down the gas a little for about 30 seconds it will idle normal . it only does this sometimes after sitting for a couple hours or overnight, once i get driving it runs fine . the injectors seem to be spraying normally , new oxygen sensor and newer plugs and new plug wires . I dont think it has any trouble codes because my ses light isnt on . any help is greatly appreciated.

The yellow sensor near the thermostat is an overheat sensor. I'm not sure which way the thermistor goes (more/less resistance), open or closed, but what I know is when hot enough/disconnected the engine will shut off. Try unplugging it while running, it'll just shut right off thinking the engine is extremely hot. Actually since disconnecting it shuts it off, I think the resistance goes up with temperature. When it gets hot enough it cuts the circuit and the car shuts off, which is the same as disconnecting it. If broken, you won't have overheat protection.

are these some characteristics of a bad fuel pump?, bouncing gas gauge needle that goes completely below E occasionally even though gas is in there?

also any idea how much a temp overheat sensor costs?

I agree with TBI305Camaro, I would check that Fuel Pump. I had the same problem with mine during Summer. If it isn't the Fuel Pump, I would check the Air Cleaner. My 82 TA CFI would die at stop lights unless I stuck it in Park and give it gas until the light turned Green. The Fuel Pump was fine until I looked at my dark Air Filters. Ran like a Ra*ed Ape after that! =)

Replace the Cracked sensor in the intake, sounds like a broken/beatup Coolant temp sensor, prolly has a yellow/black wire coming out of it..

replace that, it may clear up.
