My tbi makes a hissing sound-mainly at idle. It is normal though, it's just the air passing through the throttle blades.

BLOWER WHINE

My TBI (with an open air cleaner) makes a blower-like whine at idle and a realy loud whine at part throttle. It's pretty cool. I've heard other TBI's make ticking sounds as the injectors open and close.

Super charger noise...

Yeah, my six's TBI whines when you give it some throttle....and at start up, man, it sounds like it's pulling all the air in the world...I'm not kidding man....I prefer the "velocity cover" as opposed to the straight up filter. It gave me a lot more torque and have been saving at the pump some...pretty kewl fellas....CHEVYTOWN
p.s. That cover is from an efi cadillac

I definetly think im gonna switch and get a "cold air" intake of some kind. My car doesnt run to well when its hot out with the open element. Anyone know the parts number for the Ram Air box that will work for me? I already have the element and everything.

Give Year One a look. Lots of resto parts and numbers.

I made a custom dual snorkel air cleaner out of my stock TBI cold air setup. Now I get twice as much air and it looks stock.
