Out - Realizing how hard Illinois winters and road salt really are hard on the sheetmetal.

More gear-head IN's and OUT's
Here’s a new IN and OUT list to ponder. Feel free to share it and make comments.
In-Paying homage to “old school” gear heads that have passed beyond.
Out-Filling three magazines issues with those stories.
Out-Actually reading all those stories.
In-Friendly street racing.
In-Bench racing.
Out-Making excuses not to race.
In-Scoring a smog era big-block for cheep.
In-Building up the big-block the right way.
Out-Spending enough money on your machinist so that he wants to retire early.
In-Awesome burnouts and power braking.
Out-Hi-rev. neutral drops.
Out-That stick guys have it easy.
In-A big tach. and full instrumentation.
Out-Adding a digital diff. Temp. gauge just to fill another row of gauge pods.
In-Straight vinyl seats.
In-Reupholstered cloth seats.
Out-Stinky, shedding, fax wool seat covers.
In-Consistent, reliable, and cool looking fuel injection.
Out-That every little part for EFI costs as much as a new carb.
In-Scoring a dirt-cheep summer beater with no heater, leaky breaks, and non-functioning wipers.
Out-That some of those beater will be daily drivers this winter.
In-Testing my new motor swap with out any exhaust…at 2 a.m.
In-Going ahead and breaking in the cam too.
Out-The feeling I get that my neighbors are planning to lynch me.
In-Flogging the hell out of an old 305.
In-Replacing the old 305 with a built 350.
Out-Finding out that your old 305 made almost as much power as your new “built” 350.
In-Spending weekends at the junkyard.
Out-Your friends planning an intervention to “get you help”.
In-The art of swapping B.O.P. parts to build a cool cruiser.
Out-Your “Chevy” buddy copying you with less time and money.

IN: Making the 305 perform. Hey, the riceboys are doing it with half the motor-lets show them how it's done!
OUT: Shoehorning a 502 in your F-Body STREET car. Fun yes, but requires twice the value of the car to keep it straight, uncracked, running cool enough, and not squirelly.
IN: Keeping the F-body legend alive!
OUT: That GM cancelled the F-Body
As nice as the 4th gen was, it became too high-tech, and way too expensive for the buyers GM was trying to attract.

"How do you do this"
Where the kickdown hooks up to your carb or TB, just pull the cable towards the front more so the cable is stiffer. Then just adjust it so it stays that length.

I hate when the T-tops fly off esp when the windows are up it's like sudden decompression then the emergency hatch rips off an airplane.
