Alt Bipass Q.

I was reading in this post about disconnecting the ground on the alt when at the track so that It does't drag on the engine. How would you go about doing that and why would it help? The alt would still spin wouldn't it?

It makes sence, your alternator charges your battery by... well to make a long story short it makes your engine work harder by putting a load on it, eliminate the load, you get more power for the wheels, but i never thought that it would make that much of a difference! heck just unplug it and see what happens.
