TBI Chip question
How well would a Caprice Cop Car 350 TBI chip work in my car. Check my sig for mods. In about 2 months I will be doing LT1 cam and Edelbrock TBI intake swap. So if it wouldn't be that great now how about after that cam and intake are on.

Cop chip won't help a 305 car. Custom chip is the only way to clean it up and make it run the way it should.

i was running the cop car chip for 2 months before taking out the 305 and putting in a 350. i think the chip has a better timing and fuel curve. but im pretty sure you would not be lean. rich if anything. i think there was a slight difference probably fromt eh timing change. this was all on a 305, with msd coil, and no smog or ac, open element air.

I'm guessing they are saying you would run lean because the 350s in the cop cars came with 65pph injectors I believe. The L03 came with 40pph injectors. Because of the larger injectors, the duty cycles may be less in the caprice chip. The computer doesn't know the size of the injectors either, so thus running thru 40pph injectors, it would be lean. However, I don't know what either charts look like, and couldn't tell you how the duty cycles compare.

For a chip designed to work with 65s to be used on any injector size other then that will generate odd problems if you just try dranking up the FP to get the same lbs.hr rating of the other injectors.
Also,
The vac signals from the stock cam to a LT1 will be enough different to be noticeable. least to me.
generic chips, are generic chips, to get one right for your car means doing your own, or settling for what someone thinks your car will like.
