Nitrous Oxide Systems kit 05153...if done right you wont "blow" your engine into 200 pieces. If you have low miles and dont run nitrous to much you should be ok. Camaroracer1992 ran a 120 shot on a 305 TBI with the stock bottom end for along time. I wouldnt recomend that but if you have ~80k or less you could probably get away with a 75 shot if you arent ruthless. Oh and you man want to read up on n2o some more. Nitrous wont "blow" your motor up but will accelerate ring wear and what not. It gonna make the engine work that much harder.

Also before you go and spray make sure your fuel system is up to it. You dont want to go spraying n2o with a worn out coil, cap, rotor and definetly not platinum plugs (i hear they explode?). Give your car a good tuneup and make sure the fuel pump and injectors are up to the task. Running extremely lean could also cause alot of problems.

By the way the Nitrous Oxide System (NOS) kit 05153 is made specifically for TBI cars/trucks. Please dont call it NOS that is a companies name that sells nitrous kits...you dont hear people going around saying "Yo I got ZEX on my car dawg"

Is that venom kit a dry setup? It said that it used your fuel injectors. Very interesting. Anyone have any experience with this kit?

You also want to do other mods before just thorwing the nitrous on there.......

Also a Fuel Pressure Safety Switch

My 305 has 220,000 miles on it now, and I ran a 120 HP shot for quite a while. Got about 12 passes on it with these jets, and many many many more with the 100 HP set up. The motor has gotten at least 12 bottles put through it. Stock fuel pump, and the car was lean in the high gears with the 120 jets. Now I am not saying it is going to last forever, but the motor still runs fine. Smokes like a bitch at start up from the valve seals, but it did that long before the nitrous. I would recommend regular maintenance on the solenoids once you get a n2o kit. My fuel solenoid stuck open one night, and flooded the motor, because it was dirty.

but my opinion is your motor will be fine if you follow the instructions and tune it like they tell you. My car even made a few high 13 second passes with the 120. don't think the 305 has enough in it to do that again, but it still purrs.

yes, by the way, it is my OPINION...for all those geeks out there who feel like they know everything and must rip apart everyone else....some people spend too much time in front of their conmputers and not in the garage...

Has anyone run a carb nitrous setup with tbi? Its just uses a plate under the carb unless its a fogger system, right? I wonder if I could make a small 2" 2bbl tbi adaptor to put over it, then bolt it on to the manifold...

as long as your fuel pump is good running the NOS plate system is a great power adder. camaroracer1992 coudl only run 15.0's on motor, but on a 125 shot he went 13.1's. keep the timing at teh stock setting and make sure your fuel pump does nto lose pressure when the engien revs. do the diy afpr mod in the tech articles and raise your fuel pressure a little to insure you have plenty of fuel.

Thanks guys. That venom kit looks and sounds real impressive. Pricey but it is made specifically for our cars and there seems like there is a great deal of tunability with that kit. I am going to go with the 383 setup. Im going to build it for street usage mainly as it is my only source of transportation. I think the nitrous is a good way to keep it that way but still dust off the occasional pesky ***** or rustang whenever i need it. I plan on getting the chip and nitrous dyno tuned by Ed Wright at Fastchip and then learn how to do my own chip stuff so i can make little changes to the programming if i feel it needs to be done. This will be a long term project as it will probably take me about two years to gradually build the funds and car. But once its done, ill be having a hell of a lot of fun. BTW, TBI is here to stay on my car
