Cars running alot stronger since i purchased it stock 2 months ago, now what u guys think i should do next.

1.) headers, and a custom chip ordered from fastchip

2.)ss ram air hood, 14*4 open element, k & n extreme lid, dana battery , remove air conditioning. With the fiberglass hood might as well remove a total of 100 pounds out of the front.

3.) vigilante 2,200 or 2,400 stall converter and transgo shift kit

Im leaning towards number too, i love the look of that hood.

Depends on what you want.

Performance. Go for the headers. I wouldn't pay the fastchip fee until you change cam or heads. Which means you could install a 95+ S10 4.3L S10 converter for a 2000 rpm stall and still be within budget if you do the work yourself.

Looks. Go for the Hood

I'd go with headers and, if you have access to a dremel, perform the Ultimate TBI mods. I think you'll be impressed with the performance improvement headers give over the stock manifolds.

I agree with bharris 100%. Headers are the way to go, and the S10 stall will flash to about 2200 (p/n 24202310) and only run you about $200 from www.gmpartsdirect.com (plus an *** raping on shipping) or some of the other GM dealers that give good prices.

The hood would look cool though, so it really depends if you want looks of performance. If you're leaning twards the hood by all means go for it! I wish I could get a nice aftermarket one, but the money situation wont allow that

your "custom ordered chip" is gonna be as worthless as any other off teh shelf chip. look in the tech articles and do teh ultimate tbi mods, advance your base timing 4 to 6 degrees, diy afpr, 14x3 flat base open element air cleaner(K&n is noce but not really necessary)and do teh aldl convertor lock up switch.
the ss hood woudl be a good looking mod, and if you make a cowl pan for it you will get a bit of a performance boost from ti too.
the convertor and shift kit idead is a good place to go, but just use the 4cyl s-10 convertor that chuck! mentioned. if you want a bit more stall speed b&m has off teh shelf convertors that cost half as much as the vig and yanks of the world. thos econvertors are very nice, but the price is overkill if you aren't looking for a part that can handle a ton of power.
a full exhaust shoudl follow the free adn cheap mods mentioned above. you will see a nice performance gain and the car will have a much stronger exhasut note.

later
tim
