Pickup Coil Replacement
Pickup Coil Replacement
It appears the pickup coil or module in the distibutor of my 91 truck is bad. All of the threads I have read indicate that the distributor was removed to replace the pickup and module. My service manual does not give enough detail. Can someone tell me absolutely whether or not the distributor has to be removed and why?
Thanks

May need to use carb cleaner (GumOut) on shaft and work it in order to pull it out of housing. Varnish builds up.

Thats pretty much it. Its not to difficult. Try to mark the distributer and get it back in the right way or your timing is gonna be way off. Mid as well just buy a timing light if you dont have one already.
