i go to start my 89 yesterday and its completely dead... no accessories. nothin... could this be all from the battery? im about to take the battery in, but i even tried to jump the car and still didnt get lights or nothin... any ideas if its other than the battery? thanks guys...

Most likely the ground cable has gone bad or come loose at least. Test by using your jumper cable on the negative terminal and hook the other end to the body or engine block and see if you can get lights. If that doesn't work then the positive could also be corroded in two. Both can and do go bad.

Just happened to my car a couple of weeks ago. In my case the wire that goes from the battery to the starter was loose on the starter end. I hope yours is that easy to fix.
