TB Is Squeaking.

now after installing my open element whenever i push the pedal down very slightly my TB whines, kinda like a tea kettel. anybody else have this problem?

It whines? I know mine makes a sucking high pitched sound with the open element, sure its not that ur hearing?

actually i just noticed today mine does that, if you just slightly hit the gas pedal, its whistles, i guess its just air squeezing thru a passage.

no, it's not just the sound of the open element. cuz at adle and any other time you don't hear that. only when you press on the pedal just a lil bit.

thats just the air rushiung in around the throttle blades. Probably when you press the pedal some the mixture of air and fuel rushing in gets very turbulent because of the small opening and it makes the noise you hear. nothing to worry about. The stock air box silences all the osund so you never hear it. TBI's are kinda noisy.

My TB is so quiet the clicking of the injectors was loud enough to fool me into thinking I had a loose rocker arm...

Personally I don't like the idea of sucking in underhood air... way too hot thanks to the headers. Building a RAM air setup doesn't take much work and is cheap. (Except for the TPI conversion.. for some reason up here those intakes are in demand)

I also run a crank underdrive pulley as well, so accessories aren't as loud... I got a really quiet engine by typical camaro standards.

Ratstix, odds are you shouldnt worry about that sound, personally i think its a beautiful sound, i have the same sound with my k&n, makes it sound like its ready to roll!

i don worry about it. it's jsut that it gets on my damn nerves. it sounds liek my car has a mouse under the hood (not to say the lo3 isn't)
