will 14x3 fit?
i have the edelbrock tbi intake manifold and i was wondering if a 14x3 open element air filter will fit under the stock hood of the firebird. i know the new intake manifold is maybe 1/4 to half inch higher, but i dont know how much more room i have under there

i have a 1/2" TB spacer and a 14x3" drop base, the wing nut touchs the insulation.

Yes it will fit. I had the edelbrock manifold with a 14x3 flat base air cleaner and it will fit. Cleared just fine. It may have touched the insulation if i had it.
On the other hand a holley street dominator intake, holley 670cfm SA carb, and a drop base with a 3'' k&n barely fits...it pushes on the hood. Took me forever to find a air cleaner. None of the little goon dick ones at the parts store would fit and the flat base was way to high.
