vacuum leak what kind of part??

I have a big vacuum leak and found out where it was coming from after months of driving around. Its a little piece of plastic thats got one line coming in one side and two coming out of the other. The main line is coming straight off the manifold from a silver fitting right behind the throttle body. One of the lines on the other side goes to the vacuum ball. Well anyway it was an accident that I found it and what the heck is this little piece of plastic. Can i just replace it with a 3 way tee?? THANKS

I too have this problem, wonder if anyone can shed some light on this, possibly a part number. I assume it is some type of check valve, and i think it has to do with the climate controls, which i believe are actually vaccuum operated?

Please help us out.

thanks,
MIke

Hey Mike I replaced mine with a 3 way tee from autozone for $1.49 and man you wouldnt believe the difference its runs so smooth and shifts arent as rough because the thing isnt chugging at low RPM's. Make sure you get the one with 1/4" on end and the other two 3/16". Hurry and get it you wont be sorry. I actually like to drive my car again.

it's a kind of cone-shaped 3-way thing? it's a check valve for the A/C / heater controls. it's $4.89 from GM. my dealer had it in stock when i needed one....
