Anyone try any "Engine renew" products?

My dad has an old Izuzu pickup that valve taps really bad. His water pump failed on him on the highway and actually seized his engine. 12 hours later after sitting with penetrating oil inthe cyls,it would start up again, but he obviusly has some good valve damage. He bought a thing of engine renew and now he swears by it. The valve tapping is noticably quieter and he says it has more power...

I'm thinking about slurging and spending $9 on a can for my car next time I get the oil changed. It supposedly helps your valve seals and increases compression....anyone tried it?

it jsut thickens the oil up so that it acts as a better pad. if you want teh same efffect fill teh thing up with straight 40weight for the next oil change, or jsut add a bottle to the existing oil.

i had someone use that crap in one of my old cars. Stopped the oil consumption untill the next oil change (and me buying it). I still wouldnt put it in a car i cared about. I really hate the thought of introducing additaves to the oil.
