About to swap in my 350 TBI, few parts ?'s
Hello,
Brand new to the board, and am about to swap out my 305 and put in a 350 TBI. My question is, where can I get performance parts for my 350 TBI engine?(such as headers, open air element, and exhaust) What kind of heads should I put on? As far as I know, getting parts made for the 305, like the headers, wouldnt do anything but restrict airflow. Correct me if Im wrong, and ANY help is greatly appreciated. Thank You!

for exaust just get headers/cat/catback for a 350TPI single cat, it will be 3" all the way back from most companies, the headers will be 1 5/8" primaries, and will go to a 3" Y pipe, that connectes to a 3" cat, that connects to a 3" cat-back.
open element, same as for a 305 or a carb, you will either need a drop base, and use the spacer included with the throttle body. or i hear some people use a flat base, and take the spacer out, but you might have clearance issues with the throttle linkage if you go that route, but i am not 100% sure.
as for heads there are a LOT of options, did you just get a 350 shortblock ? to answer a question like that we will need more infor on the combo you have, block, cam, intake you are planning to run ect.
hope that helps you a little.
BTW, WELCOME TO THE BOARDS!!!!!!

D@mn, thought I asked that too....what cam do you recommend, LT-1? Engine's comin out of a chevy van this weekend, I should have it swapped in by next week if I find the time, but would like to replace the cam, and maybe heads before I swap it in. Heres what I got so far:
350 TBI out of a chevy van (using the 350 TBI unit, sound okay?)
350 ECU
350 knock sensor
Lookin to get:
new cam
new heads
Exhaust can be hella restrictive for now, seeing how cash is. Thank you for the info and warm welcome!!
