Heads

I am putting vortec heads on a TBI 350. I have a Vortec Performer Intake to put on too. The heads are milled .030, do I need to have the intake milled?

I would ask the machine shop that milled your heads if it is nessesary. I would like to know why you milled the heads in the first place though. It might raise your compression to high to be able to run on anything but premium gas.

You can easily run the vortecs up to 9.5:1 and still run 87. The truck has 8.5:1 stock

A stock 350vortec has 9.1/1cr with 62cc combustion chambers. Your stock 350tbi should be running 9.0/1cr with 72cc combustion chambers. You are probably going to be closer to 10.1 to 10.5cr than you will be to 9.5/1cr.
