I highly doubt you would get a .2 et improvement from removing that stuff. Most guys that do the removal do it simply to clean up the engine bay and make it look a little more open. If you're going to do this I wouldn't go into it expecting much of a performance increase. I read a post of someone that did some track runs with smog and some runs after he removed the smog and he stated that there was more variance between the different runs than there was between the removed smog and existing smog.

What do you mean by "was more variance between the different runs than there was between the removed smog and existing smog"

I'm not sure I totally understand. Thanks.

he meant that your not going to run the same track times everytime you run your car, there was a bigger difference in these times, then what he gained by taking that stuff out.

I hope that makes sense.

well the a/c system weights in at about 45lbs...and the smog system at about 15lbs. So your gonna shave 60lbs off your car...I'd say maybe .1 or so

But damn the amount of space you gain from taking out the a/c is just amazing! Finnaly I can reach the rear header bolts or spark plugs with ease
