How rough are you on your car?
I noticed in the MPG thread, most of you are getting 50% to 300% better milage than me. I was just wondering, how rough are you on your car? I dont drive fast, but I get there very quickly.
I used to beat the hell out of it wherever I went and pretty much lived at the street races, Saga Bay.. (my old neighborhood) and the L maybe youve been there
What part of Miami are you in? I was always at the races and the fuddruckers show which i heard is done. Maybe youve seen me, white firebird (looks like a t/a) with black crosslace wheels.
well, maybe not, this was before May 2001 mostly

I run my girl pretty hard, but most of my driving is highway. I've got 3.23 gears/auto and I cruise at 70-80, little bit of stop and go. I usually can coach about 185-195 miles per tank.
Holy ****, a local.
I live in Key Largo, but work in Cutler Ridge on 107th (Marlin Road.)
I've been to the L. No one races there anymore because there is no way out if cops come. We now run at nationals and meet at the exxon on Franjo RD.
I used to goto school at centennial.
Fuddrucker's is done. The import crowd started coming and doing burnouts in the Kmart parking lot, being idiots in general, and having **** playing on their DVD players in their car with small children walking around with their parents. Kmart threatened a lawsuit against Fudds if the cars kept showing up because Fudds was welcomeing them in, and they would goto the Lot to do stupid crap.
Oh well, we have to meet at other places, and leave when the cops show up.
Next time your in town, shoot me a PM and we'll hang out sometime.

i am pretty hard on her, lots of miles (160K+). it sees everything from stop and go to 100mph+, it hasn't lived an easy life, but keeps taking the abuse like a trooper!

Yes, lol. Its seen 6500+ rpms a few times after the rebuild and has 120+ passes at the strip before the rebuild. **** when we tore it down the bearings looked freakin new with 120k miles on them. The only reason I changed them was because it was apart.

I generally get on it 50-100% throttle from a dead stop to ~40-50 mph, (gears 1, 2, and part of 3rd) everywhere I drive (not highway) and get ~170 miles to a tank ~14 mpg? My commutes are usually less than 2-3 miles each way and it happens ~4-8 times a day.
On the highway I usually just cruise ~80 mph = ~2700 rpm. This gets me ~280-300+ miles to a tank. ~22-25 mpg.
Otherwise in general I hit 5000+ rpm at least 2 or 3 times a day for the last 40,000 miles on my car, currently ~116,000 miles. Change oil/filter every 3000 miles or ~5000 with synthetic(filter change in the middle)

Besides idling, I never get below 2500 RPMs.

Mine has 166,000 on the clock and that's exactly how I drive it. Mine is basically stock with an open element and does me aroun 17-18 mpg in the city.

I will once in a great while rag on it on the street but I really only get on it at AutoX event and Drag racing. I don't know what everyone else is saying about the MPG but I get about 20mpg. Stock these cars would get 17 but removing my cat and upgrading my ignition helped out a little bit. Truthfully though, I am not buying some of these ridiculous numbers some of these people are getting.
