LT1 cam
i have the LO3 89 trans am. i heard an lt1 cam was a good cam to swap to. where can i get one and how much? i cannot find one it's making me mad. thanks guys

i dont know exact power numbers, but it would be a huge improvement over the stock peanut cam
stock: .350/.384 174/194 109* LSA
LT1: .447/.459 201/207 115* LSA w/1.5 rockers
If those are not the exact numbers, they are pretty close

can somebody please explain to me whole duration and such thing? i am a beginner with mechanics and i don't understand about cams and what the specs should be and what each spec does and what not. please explain?

lift is how much the valve actually opens. Duration is the amount of time (in degrees) that the valve stays open above a lift of .05".
If you want to know all you need to know about cams, go pick up the lastest Chevy Hi Performance, there is a big article in this months issue titled Camshaft Basics. Might as well subscribe to it to, only $12 for 1 year and $18 for 2 years, its a great mag.

I have an LT4 cam in my new 350 and it's specs are 203/210 dur and .476/.480 lift. I think those specs are from the 96 LT4.
