Can you have too much (big) TBI?

I've seen issues where too large of a carb can cause performance problems. I've been told that the same is not true for the FI world. (Hell, I mounted a twin 58mm on my 3.4L LOL)

I am curious as to if the same holds true for a TBI system.

For example, is it worth dropping a 454's TBI on a lightly modded vehicle?

On a side note: If I have a manifold with 2" bored (for the incresed volume) will using a stock TBI hurt me?

if you had a intake with 2" bores i would just go ahead and use a 454 TBI, but make sure that you put small injectors on there. Running too ruch is what will hurt your performance on a TBI. A bigger tbi is definately not needed on a 305 unless you go with aftermarket heads, cam, intake, headers and exhaust. The TBI is not the limiting factor on the stock L03, it is the heads, cam, intake, and exhaust.

ok - I'll hunt for just a base then
Cam and headers are on this summer's list.
Heads will come soon after.
