Position of tbi bores on carb intake!!!!!!!!

On the tbi specific intake manifolds the throttle body bores are centered. On most carb intake manifolds I have seen with adaptors they are offset towards the front. Why is this. Does one have any advantages over the other? How is fuel and air distribution effected by moving the bores around?

You can do a search on this one, its come up before.

The throttle blades point the mixture to the back of the intake at part throttle so moving it forward helps part throttle distribution. Placing it in the center is best for WOT distribution. In a perfect world you would have it in the center of the intake and up high enough that distribution would not be a problem.

On www.cfmtek.com they make the tbi adapter plates and they state that they have proven the engine will make more power with the tbi positioned towards the front. Not sure how true it is but thats what they claim.
To gain alittle more performance I dremmeled the intake to match the tbi bores cause the tbi bores are wider than the carb bores.

I did do a search and didnt come up with a reason why. So for WOT it is best to have the bores centered you say? Ive seen a few companies that say it makes more power towards the front, but I wanted to know why and if that is true.

I ve got the bores offset a half inch forward, I would think this makes for a smoother idle and better part throttle performance.

i think another reason some of the plates might be offset is so that the linkages are in the appropriate place in relation to the tbi in a carb to efi swap. Other then that the offset makes it a pain to use a carb intake because the linkages and the fuel lines never line up right when the tbi is offset.
