Engine Temp

My car has been running at around 220º lately and will drop to around 180º sometimes. Is this normal or is this harming my engine? Would a lower temperature reading be benificial? What are easy way to lower the temperature?

220 is normal in traffic. Sounds normal to me. You could get a 180 stat and fan switch and it would run cooler and might give you a slight gain in power.

220* is normal when driving around the city. Put a low thermostat (180*), run some RedLine water wetter, and get a fan switch that turns on at a lower temp, or you can just wire up a manual fan switch, very cheap and easy. i just made mine this past weekend and it works great.
