350 4bbl to tbi swap questions... help!

Hey all, Well im getting a motor a guy built up for his AC cobra... Well its a Lt1 crate motor, with a 4 bbl, i dont know the details about it, i just know it has only 10k miles on it and im getting it for a great price... ( the guy who bought it doesnt want a chevy motor in his ford)

anyways i blew up my L03.. and have most all the parts left over, Can it be as simple and putting the edlebrock performer intake, and my old TB on and rip the intake and carb off, then buy some sensors, and then boom all my computer stuff and guages should work with the exception of the check engine light???

I know im gonna need a chip for a 350 caprise, and also the 350 injectors, thats no prob... what other little things do i need?

Please tell me whats no so easy about this.. i need to know all the little things please!!

Thanks so much.

Yes its that simple. Pay attention to what heads he has on it. The vortec heads dont fit standard manifolds. The sensors(basic) you will need will be
1. MAP
2. knock
3. oil switch
4. CTS
5. IAC
6. TPS
7. EGR solonoid
8. AIR pump solonoid
9. purge solonoid
10. Dizzy connector
7-9 ane not necassary for non smog but egr is needed unless you decide to do chip tuning. You will also need elctric fuel pump and a return line if you dont have them already.

Keep in mind that the LT1 has reverse flow cooling system. Search for LT1 swaps and you'll find the details

I'd say skip the Edelbrock Performer intake and keep the 4-barrel intake that's on there already and just use a TBI adaptor plate. If that engine is an LT1 crate motor its probably pushing some big horsepower numbers I would assume (correct me if I'm wrong). I would say you're going to want the Holley 670 or 454 throttle body otherwise you'll definitely be choking that engine with your stock unit. Also, if this engine is capable of 300+ horses you're going to need some chip tuning to get it to run decent. Now, when you say "LT1 crate motor" do you mean just a stock LT1 motor pulled from a car or something with an upgraded cam or just something a little more stout?

Hye again, thanks for the responces.. here is all i know about the motor

A guy bought it brand new, and rebuilt it to what he wanted... now the guy who is the middle man in selling it tells me its a LT1 and im thinking he only believes this b/c the aluminum heads... but ive never seen it and dont know if its the reverse flor cooling or the distributor on the front... when i find out i will tell you..

Ive decided to leave the 4bbl intake and use the tbi plate... im gonna get some higher performance injectors, and going to get a custom burnt chip.... hmmmmm yeh ive been talking and thinking alot sence last night... keep em comming. thanks again
