For anyone swapping to a high volume/pressure fuel pump
There is a short section of rubber hose going from the pump to the sending unit. Make sure to replace it and use a braided sleeve over the new piece. My stock rubber hose lasted about 5 minutes with the Walbro 255 high pressure pump. It may have just been mine, but it's worth it to replace it considering it costs next to nothing.....As opposed to the $200 it cost me to have the tank dropped again
On the upside, my engine will finally be getting the fuel she needs!! I'm hoping to pull 105mph or better in the quarter mile with the 2bbl TBI. I can't wait!!

. (friend next to me says $50...
)
. Anyways, I sure hope you get a 105mph or better. My 102mph has been around a WHILE and needs to be beaten bad. Either you do it first or I'm going to go and post a new speed
.BTW, Personal Message me, I can help you go fast without telling you to burn an eprom. I don't want to give this info away to just anybody right now....a few weeks maybe.

Wow!, It's good to hear from ya Jon, I haven't seen you on the boards too often lately. A little friendly competition always sounds like fun, I'm really interested in seeing you break your 102mph mark with the 350 H.O.
I try to do all of the work myself as it seems like something always gets messed up when I have to bring it in. Unfortuantly, the only thing they don't let us play around with on the lifts we use is the fuel system
Oh well, maybe one day when I have a garage, I'll try swapping in a 4th gen fuel tank......

Update!! Got the car back today, and all I can say is Oh My ***!! An amazing difference! Feels like a completely different engine. I notice the Holley regulator is really touchy when using this fuel pump.....a half a turn on the set screw makes the difference between 18psi to 70+psi. I've got her at 22psi, now for a little chip tuning.... Can't wait to see what she'll run...but for now, the guy that built my engine needs to fix all of the oil leaks. Hopefully I have her back by next friday.

he's using a 4v TBI on a 383, not a 2v. So he's got a big advantage.
You're gonna need the 454 TBI unit if you plan to stay with a single 2v TBI, especially with the 383, and even then it might not be enough cross sectional area.
Staying with the stock 2v TBI will still give you outstanding mid range torque, but you will be choked at high rpms, and the tbi will be the weak link. It will never keep up with the heads/cam/displacement. So you either have to go with the 454 TBI (or the big Holley 2v) or duplicate what FRMULA88 did.
Dual 2v TBI would also solve your problem but you'd need to deal with the injector driver amps (which has been discussed elsewhere on 3rd gen).

I can't wait to see what you run Jon! It's been a while since you ran the 13.8@102. I know we have been looking foward to you running her again for a while. I'm hoping to make it to the track a week from friday, with a new chip and hopefully some rubber. Is there any chance of aquiring another one of those spings?
I'm running the Holley 670 polished w/ 85pph injectors, 1/2" tbi to carb adapter, and an injector pod spacer. I can tell you that it is not even close to big enough 4 my engine. She breaths to around 4,500rpm, then starts to run out of air. The engine, given enough air flow will make power to 5,500rpm. So yes, a 4bbl tbi will be going on there. For the time being though, 105mph is my goal with the 2bbl tbi.

Im gonna order a 255 tomorrow thanks to this thread
Im pulling 13 psi with stock injectors on my combo, which is why I think Im not getting nearly the traps I think is in the damn car. The pressure falls under a load, which makes it even worse.
Keep us updated, both you and Jon
Yep, dropped $113 on it today, lol. I hate my car.
