K and Nand open air

I was wondering if my k & N filter from my original one snorkel air cleaner fit in a open air element?

Well, first of all, we'd need to know what kind of engine your running, but im pretty sure i know where you're comming from...if your running a 305TBI with the single inlet snorkel...NO, your k and n wont fit into an open element because its only 2 1/4" tall and the minimum for using an open element on our cars is 3". i just did my conversion, and if you're going to get an open element, get one with a flat base with an OFFSET. THIS REALLY HELPS WITH CLEARANCES.
