no power
2 weeks ago my 82 trans am was completely stock except for deleted smog. From a dead stop when I stomped the gas the tires spun like crazy for a long time.
Then a couple of days ago I put on headers and got full 3'' exhaust done(no cat) with a nice sounding dynomax muffler.
Today I put a dual open element on it also.
Now when i put it to WOT from a dead stop, it just chirps a bit and doesn't even get sideways.
I cleaned the plugs a few days ago and checked firing order and even got a new 02 sensor.
I also opened up my cowl induction so it works full time.
My air filters are 5 months old, could the filter be the problem?

If this is a Cross Fire Injection car, then what happened is the engine went lean when you installed the new exhaust. To compensate for it you will have to experiement by turning the fuel pressure up a little at a time. Best bet is to get a scan tool so you can read the O2 voltages and the blm's.

today I bought new k & n filters and it has a lot better acceleration but still not how it should be.
I will try to adjust fuel pressure but I ve never done that before. What tools do you need and is it really hard?

i found it
well I wasnt really satisfied with the oem plug wires I bought 6 months ago so I purchased accel 8.8mil plug wires that look awesome.
I also go free looms in the box.
Now my car runs awesome, power range is everywhere from dead stop to highway speeds.
I also just put 92 octane in it today. It runs awesome However I wouldnt mind bumping up the fuel pressure a bit, but I dunno how.
