Problems after Performer RPM install
I'm stumped. I have the manifold installed. With the new manifold the engine won't run well. It idles around 2,300 rpms and slowly drops down to 1800, then it sits there. If I throw it into gear with the brake on it will drop to just above 1000 rpms. I know something is not working right. I thought it might be vacuum but I can't find a leak so I am stuck.
If anyone has any ideas on how to make it run right please let me know. My other mods are in my sig.
Thanks

2 things make a motor rev higher, air, and fuel. You've got a leak somewhere. Try smoking a cancer stick to find the leak or use starter fluid and spray it around until it rev's even higher. Check the throttle cable and butterfly's then look at your IAC. Just double check everything.

at least its idleing high instead of starving for fuel. just adjust idle... maybe you bracket is ff and holding the accelerator? jusat a thought.. def check iac and adjust from scratch
since i know you took out the dist!! check that as well! i bet your over advanced or something simple like that

Thanks for the ideas guys, I just got home from work so I'm going to start working on it again tomorrow. I have it narrowed down to a vacuum leak. I plan on checking it with ether tomorrow to see for sure where it is at. Then I'll get her fixed up.
I know the timing is set right, its advanced 6 degrees right now. The IAC might be something but I'm pretty sure I have a pretty good sized vacuum leak on the passenger side of the manifold.
And my chip burner is here,
the fun begins.

I bought a 24 pin ZIF adapter and soldered it onto the ECM in place of the old socket. For chips I am just going to use the 2732A chips. They're UV erasable but it isn't too hard to build your own eraser. I think I have the plan for the 24pin to 28pin adapter on here somewhere. If I can find it I'll post it up here and you can get someone to make you the PCB off of it.

that would be cool... what i was really interested in was the ability to use the switcher and flip between different bin files.. oh, and i like the whole flashable chip thing....

I dont have the schematic on my computer anymore but I think I remember where I got it so I'll keep trying to find it.
I have all the vacuum leaks fixed.
They were around my carb- TBI adaptor that I made. Now that theyre all sealed up it idles where it supposed to, almost a little low. I can tell it is going to need more fuel in a lot of places. Now its time to get her up to the track and see what she can do.

I think I got it in the DIY-EFI ftp site but it won't allow me to connect to the ftp. You can try if you want, here is the address ftp://ftp.diy-efi.org/pub/gmecm/ , I'll check a few other places but I think that is where I got it.

Did you get it fixed yet?
I had the same problem when I put my TBI spacer in.
What happened was that raising the TBI unit pulled on the
throttle cable, thus keeping it just slightly cracked open.
Had to put a few washers under the throttle cable bracket to
let it close again.
The bonus was that it also gave me a chance to adjust the
accelerator for a little more SOTP throttle response
