Big Problems!!!
Help!! My SES light stays on under 2500 RPM; My engine will start and then die immediately afterwards, but it will run after that; and I smell gas when I shut the car off. Any ideas on what the problem is? Thanks in advance for any help.

The last thing I did to it was take off the rear hood seal. No changes with the electronics though.

I had a code 22 earlier. Could a bad TPS cause so many problems? I don't have access to any diagnostic tools utill August when school's back in session. Should I just have it worked on?

check to see if you are still getting code 22 if so get a new tps and a digital volt meter, get the new tps on and set properly and that should take care of your problem
BTW when my tps was bad it would only set the ses light off during certan rpm ranges also.

Thanks for all of the help.
One more question though, how much does the TPS usually cost and what does it take to adjust it?
Thanks again

IIRC, it was like 35 for my s-10 for one of the newer style tps' amde by Borg/Warner. As for adjusting it, both the one on my camaro and the one on the truck are non-adjustable. I think the coding in the computer automatically establishes a 'zero' for the throttle position on each start up.

on the LO3 in the 91 RS it is held in place by 2 torx screws.
the Borg/Warner tps is rather cheap(If memory serves me right I payed about $15) wile the factory tps is non adjustable the B/W replacement is adjustable and you have to set it.
you will have to use a jumper wire on wires B and C for the tps, connect wire B to the possitive on the digital volt meter and connect wire C to the negative. make sure you get it set between 0.54-0.56 tighten it down and recheck it to make sure it is still set right
