What temp. are you guys running

I have been battling over heating problems since I bought the car about 6 months ago. Put a 165 thermo in it my fan is wired directly and it still ran about 220-240 and if driving really hard it would runto ablut 260.

Figured out that I was missing the air deflector put one on now I run about185-190 with accasional blips up to the 200-210 mark.

Since the car has never ran at the right temp, I'm not really sure what it should be. I'm thinkin' about 170-180.

Can somebody give me a clue. Oh yeah the car is a stock 305 'cept for the open element.

My van runs at 180°F if I leave the A/C off. Even in the dead of summer (right now).

If I turn the A/C on it'll go up to 195°F if I'm on the hiway. If I'm in city traffic then it'll get to 210°F or hotter but I turn the A/C off at that point.

Seen a few people with that issue.
It makes a big difference LOL

195-210 is absolutely normal in traffic/hot weather.
Depending on your thermostat/computer setup it may be lower.

I changed my thermostat to like 170 or 180. Mine never goes above about 175 or so it seems.
