thx.
yeah, just took the tpi airfilter housing 2x 90degree tubings behind the fog lights, one long tube with same diameter wich I could cut into the length I need, shortened the flexible part from the stock snorkel (the round end fits perfect into the hole from the tpi housing like it was made for this
) and then a smaller tube to the open elment, srew it up, and that's it.
you can feel the difference, when it's hot. I don't think, that it will give you a real horsepower gain, but it's good to avoid the parasitic power loss!!
and if the air is cooler outside (at night), then it will make you smile!
you could also use tpi filters and kick the open element and put a tubing straight over the tbi, then it would be a real ram air, not only cold air! but I wouln't do that without a afpr!!
just try it! I get the tpi housing from a pal and the tubings costed around 10 bucks or so!!!
I will test it on the 1/4 mile this weekend. just close it with a pair of socks
or something like that and watch the difference.

Looks nice to me, but IMO I think it would work better if it wasn't an open element. You're still gonna suck in a lot of hot air from the engine. Granted those PVC pipes do help, but I think it would work better if it was an enclosed element.
ive seen alot of ways to make air cleaners simular to that, ...try using your stock air cleaner assembly since its closed off and all....but it still looks pretty good, hybrid tbi.tpi deal.
ive seen some from turbo city that look pretty cool, and a few at other places around the web. very expensive though, and prolly not worth the 2 hp youd gain, and the laughter youd get from people as you popped you hood to see your engine look like it has ears.
good job though
